The British Association for Tissue Banking

The British Association for Tissue Banking (BATB) was formed in 1992 in response to the growing clinical need for human tissue for transplantation. The initial scientific meeting of the Association was held in April of 1992 and regular meetings have been held since that date covering a range of topics related to the practice, organisation and regulation of tissue banking in the UK.

The Association, through its membership, contributes to, and comments on, quality related and regulatory documents both at national and European level providing expert opinion on various aspects of tissue banking. For more details see Aims of the BATB
